The Food Comma Group is proud to announce Chef Jose Mendin’s first seafood-driven concept, Rivertail, planned to open in October 2019 in downtown Fort Lauderdale. In the space formerly inhabited by Briny’s Irish Pub, the five-time James Beard Award semifinalist along with Emi Guerra of Breakwater Hospitality will launch a chef-driven concept featuring coastal comfort cuisine, fresh from Florida produce, and locally caught, sustainable seafood specialities.
From small plate selections such as Crab Donuts and Lobster Flautas, to “Sharing is Caring” family-style dishes including The Rivertail Seafood Boil and Moqueca Mista, the menu will showcase items inspired by fish houses and oyster bars from coast to coast.
Rivertail will serve lunch and dinner, and focus on providing guests a fun, upbeat atmosphere that is refined, yet approachable enough for families. Additionally, Rivertail will offer late night dining, bar and lounge seating for riverfront happy hours, and a full raw bar.
